Drivers must produce a full valid unendorsed driving licence at the commencement of rental that he/she has held for at least two years. Customers with a new Photocard Driver's Licence must produce both the Photocard and its paper counterpart. Visitors from overseas must produce a driving licence issued in their country of permanent residence, along with a translation into English (where appropriate). Only the renter or drivers approved by Budget are permitted to drive the vehicle.
The minimum age limit for drivers is 23 years. A fee of EUR € 10 per day will apply to drivers under the age of 25 years. To rent a minibus (group 9) or a luxury car (group 12) the minimum age limit is 30. Minimum age restrictions may be reduced where renters provide their own fully comprehensive insurance cover, by prior arrangement only!
Budget Car Rental accepts Budget Charge Cards, and all major Credit Cards but not Debit Cards. Card holders must be present at time of pickup.
Budget Car Rental reserves the right to amend price structures without notice. Prices quoted at time of reservation however are guaranteed. Internet rates cannot be used in conjunction with any offline offers.
Customers wishing to extend their rental may contact our reservations department at reservations@budget-ireland.com or +353 (0) 90 6627711 to confirm availability. Extra days will be charged based on the local rate at the time the extension is made.
For your convenience your car will be supplied with a full tank of fuel which you will be asked to pay for when picking up the car. If you return the car full you will be refunded the cost of the fuel.
If you need to cancel your car rental, please contact us at reservations@budget-ireland.com or call our reservations department at +353 (0) 90 66 27711. If you cancel 48 hours prior to your pickup time there will be no charge. Cancellation after this time or if you do not pick up the car will incur a fee of € 30 inc. VAT. There is no charge for making booking amendments.
Vehicle models illustrated on this site are for guidance only. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that a vehicle from the group reserved is available, Budget reserve the right to substitute an alternative similar model.
You can book child seats on step 2 of the online booking process. This charge will be included in your total quotation.

You may only decline CDW/Theft Protection where you have arranged CDW/Theft Protection cover yourself (certain Gold/Platinum cards allow this). An administration fee of EUR € 25 + VAT at 13.5% will apply for the use of this option. A deposit of EUR € 2000 will be required on pickup for damages. It is the responsibility of the renter to ensure that the credit card insurance is adequate to cover any loss/damage to the vehicle. Otherwise, the renter must assume full financial responsibility.
One way rentals to/from Galway Airport, Galway City, Kerry Airport, Killarney and Knock Airport will incur a fee of EUR € 25.00 per rental + VAT at 13.5%.
In common with many car rental companies a standard airport surcharge of EUR € 28.00 will apply to your rental when picking up from an airport location.
A City Centre Location Surcharge of EUR € 28.00 only applies to rentals picking up from Dublin City Centre and Galway City Centre.
It is the responsibility of the Driver to pay all tolls within the correct time frame. Any unpaid tolls and violation charges will be passed on to the renter. An administration fee may also apply. Budget have no mileage restrictions.
